Paint Chip Poetry Prompt #43
Our paint chip words and phrases are cabin in the woods, deviled eggs, cotton, Aquarius, blossom, showtime, and night owl. The bonus angel card is trust (plus it has a cute unicorn on it that might make its way into someone’s poem). Use however many of these words and phrases you want. I don’t plan to use them all this week, just to mix things up a bit.
Now it’s your turn to write a poem on the theme To Night. You can write a letter to Night, like I did, or perhaps an ode.

Tea with Rasputin: Book Review
Tea with Rasputin by Rolf Richardson is a realistic fiction story that sends you on a journey around the globe with many twists you will not expect. From the UK and US and on to the Soviet Union, Richardson’s history lesson leaves you understanding some implications of running an international business.
This story is based around a British airline company and the people it chooses to employ, with many subplots filling the pages. Terry is fresh out of the British army and new to British World Airways based in the United Kingdom. A well-known and respected pilot, Greg Wilton has disappeared. Not having anyone immediately available, except Terry, who is new and at “the bottom of the barrel,” he is sent to find Greg Wilton. Greg’s reputation is positive, and he has been successful so far; this could be a position Terry might like someday down the road. For now, Terry will find his niche in the US and then in the Soviet Union, proving he is a trustworthy, hardworking employee for BWA. Terry meets people along the way that help him try to find the missing pilot and most stay close for the rest of his adventures. Setting up successful airport locations is Terry’s primary job with BWA, allowing him new opportunities with his family and a successful career he builds on his own.
I would give this story three out of five stars for its relatable characters and realistic plot. The pace of the story is slow to start and drags on a bit throughout the entire book leaving you anxiously wondering what will happen next. It has many interesting insights into employment with an international company, as well as intrigue and deception. Despite its drawn-out content, the book is worth reading with an ending that is worth every minute.

Fresh out of training school and awaiting his first posting, Terry flies to Alaska, brimming with enthusiasm at being trusted with such a mission. There he discovers Wilton rented a small plane while on his layover and both are now missing. His last contact appeared to be with Coral, a waitress at the crew watering hole, The Golden Nugget, so with her help Terry sets out to find the missing airman.
Their quest appears to be hopeless, because Alaska is huge, but they do not give up. The action moves to Hong Kong, Miami, Oxford (England) and finally St. Petersburg for Tea with Rasputin, a ten year globe-trotting saga with many twists and turns.
Join Terry in his investigation, where intrigue, suspense, mystery, humour and even a little romance lie in wait.
About the Author
ROLF RICHARDSON is a mongrel English/Norwegian who loves to travel, starting with service in the RAF, flying Britain’s first jet fighter, the Meteor; thereafter 25 years as a British Airways pilot on Argonauts, Britannias, VC10s and 747s.
He then became a roaming photographer, visiting around 110 countries, with over 15,000 photos now sold. He has worked his passage on cruise ships by giving lectures. Taken 3 months to drive round Australia.
A few years ago he set out to put his experiences to further use by writing a series of ‘Easy Read’ books: thrillers with a dash of history, romance and humour.
