The day you walk in
you try not to look
at the other ones waiting
you hang your coat on a hook

Everyone stays
with their eyes looking down
Being here’s worse
than seeing a clown

No matter what music
or noise in the air
you all know you’re waiting
but speak? No one’ll dare.

Out the nurse comes
calling your name
as awkward as knowing
that you even came.
