A Unique Title For Me

What strange things will I find in here?  It smells kind of nice and since the male died after we mated, life must go on.  I performed the 50 ways to shag my lover and I was able to store his sperm in my vagina, which allows me to determine the sex of my offspring.  Now I can lay my eggs and fertilize them here, as this looks like a nice place to build a nest.

Simply 6 Minutes—Welcome To The Challenge: 9/29/2020

Welcome to the 6 minute challenge!

Today’s prompt is:

*****For any participants that do NOT like restrictions, please feel free to participate in any way you would like. It is great to read the contributions!****

  1. Set up a timer or sit near a clock so you can keep track of the six minutes you will be writing.
  2. You can either use one of the prompts (photo or written) or you can free-write.
  3. Get ready and write for 6 minutes, that is it! Can you write a complete story? Can you think of a new Sonnet? Can you write 400 words? 400? 500? There are no restrictions on what kind of writing you do, but you should try to be actively writing for six minutes.
  4. After you are done writing, include your word count and then post back to this page #Simply6Minutes or include your link in the comments section. Pingbacks are enabled.
  5. *Feel free to leave your work completely unedited. I believe it is good to see, especially for new writers, that even very seasoned writers don’t write a perfect first draft.*
  6. Have fun, challenge yourself if you’d like, read and respond to others’ posts.

Thank you for participating!

My Contribution:

Hello? Is anyone home?

Where is everyone? I told them not to leave the hole unattended and open. I guess I will go check to see if someone is nestled up in one of the sleep chambers.

A wasp is so mad
that his house was alone
He felt like a dad
or a dog with a bone
He was not too happy
to come home and find
an empty, cold nest
He was out of his mind.

Three Things Challenge

For: https://pensitivity101.wordpress.com/2020/09/29/three-things-challenge-373/

Your three things today are:

RECORD
HANG
THREAD

The Record

When I went to the park

I saw in a tree

A record was spinning

It wasn’t from me

I found that a person

Tried to hang it up high

Using a thing thread

Like a fly in the sky

The round disc was there

To reflect all the sun

I think that it’s pretty

And happy it’s done.

Truthful Tuesday: September 29th, 2020

For: https://pcguyiv.wordpress.com/2020/09/29/truthful-tuesday-september-29th-2020/

What are your thoughts on trick-or-treating this year? Should Halloween be “canceled”, or should it be allowed to go on as normal.

I have never been a big Halloween fan. I remember loving to dress up as a kid but I don’t recall liking walking all over the place for candy. Now, as an adult I think the holiday is ridiculous because of what it has become. When my kids were little I loved to see them dressed up and I loved that they loved Halloween, but again, I was not a fan.

That being said, I think that Halloween is only about candy. Costumes have become “whatever you can pull together”, except those for little kids. All costumes are way too expensive, which is why people make their own costumes. I’m not saying homemade costumes are bad, my mom made all of mine. I’m just saying that rolling up your jeans and putting on a flannel shirt does not make one a farmer.

I think trick-or-treating would be fine, people are wearing masks anyhow!

I think kids should just stay home, though, have parents spend a ton less on candy and costumes, and spend time as a family. Play a game, bob for apples…

Coup de Foudre- “love at first sight”

Becky wished she had been alive during the Renaissance because of her love of classical philosophy. She loved the way people came together to meld literature and art. If she could have been there, she thought, she could have come away with gold embellished leggings as a souvenir. But for now, she held her thumb against the fabric of her nylon leggings, trying to tuck the tag back in.

Becky was looking forward to her date that evening with Roberto. She had met him in the half empty train station, and it had been coup de foudre. She knew her best friend Jenna did not believe in “love at first sight.” That particular day Roberto had been standing in the ticket line that was coiled around the pillar in the station. He had been wearing a crisp, new polo shirt and Becky felt he looked sumptuous! If they had met during the Renaissance, they would have fallen in love just as quickly as they had that day. Becky loved that Roberto was as romantic as she was.
