Roger’s Magical, Mystical Questions:

  1. Many local regions, especially rural areas where I live, have haunted houses. Have you ever spent the night in a house that was supposedly haunted? Anything ‘strange” happen? I have always wanted to stay in a local haunted place. I can’t get in legally and no one wants to “help”. Anyhow, the last time I was in Savannah, GA I stayed at the Foley Inn, which is supposed to be haunted. I didn’t hear or feel anything. In the morning, as I lay there, I talked to the spirit and told him he could come chat. He didn’t. I also said to my late husband and son, “Hey, will you guys give me some sort of sign that you are with me?” Nothing. Later, after checking out I went to Bonaventure Cemetery. It was nice. As I was ready to leave a bird flew by my head. It was a Pileated Woodpecker! I have been trying to see one for the last 13 years! It flew over to a tree near me. I wondered “Is that Bob or Joey?” All of a sudden a second Pileated woodpecker came out of the tree! The two flew over to another tree. They landed and then the two of them hopped together along one of the branches. After a few moments, they flew together back to the tree that they lived in. Well, whether you believe or not…That was my late husband Bob and my son Joey giving me a sign that they knew I would understand! I bawled my eyes out.
  2. The Quidditch Cup (riding broomsticks while chasing a small ball) was a huge sporting event in the land of Hogwarts. What is the largest sporting event (or concert, etc.) that you have ever attended? I think I would have to say Pink Floyd at Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts where the New England Patriots play. Great concert!
  3. When you go for a swim, do you prefer an ocean, the seaside lakes, or a pool? I like the clear, salty water of the ocean. I love that there are no creatures in a pool. Lakes used to be a favorite but now that I know what lives under that water…Oh, hell no!
  4. Ron Weasley received a horrid robe to wear as formal wear to the Christmas dance at Hogwarts. Tell about the most ‘ghastly’ fashion statement that you have ever made. On purpose or thinking I looked good? The worst thing was going to work with one black shoe and one navy shoe, same style…

Muggle Questions (from Melanie):

What is the last song you sang along to? When I sing in the car I don’t really know what I am singing once it is turned off, I just sing everything. The last song I purposely sang was “My Church” by Maren Morris.

What was your scariest nightmare about? I have a lot of nightmares, usually about spiders that I can’t get rid of or that keep “showing up”. I’ve had those where someone is super creepy and trying to get me. When I am super stressed out I have nightmares about waitressing and all of the problems I have when working, making me wake up exhausted, “from working all night!”.

What food do you crave most often? Chocolate Ice Cream, Rice Crispy Treats, and many other things… (Buffalo Wings, Cheeseburgers with American Cheese, Mustard and Ketchup, and Mexican Food)

What’s your grossest bug story? When I was a kid we had a Gypsy Moth Caterpillar outbreak. We rode our bikes and watched them squish out greenish yellow guts. You could also hear them being squished. It was so gross but they covered every surface!

GRATITUDE SECTION

I am grateful for David who is so supportive and encouraging. He hasn’t “blunk” an eye since I have been gone for three weeks with my father and step-mother. That is a big relief to not have a stressor like that!

  1. Thanks Christine for Sharing Your World. That caterpillar outbreak sounds really awful! One doesn’t tend to think about them when thinking about ‘gross bugs’ but they really are rather disgusting, even if they turn out beautifully as butterflies or pretty moths. Nature is amazing! I’m glad you got to see your husband and son for a wee bit that way. How awe inspiring!

    • I was so happy and stunned. I mean how could someone say that isn’t a sign. When we moved into our home 13 years ago I thought I saw one. For all those years I used to search my yard for them. My neighbor said they lived across the street in a swampy area. I love the birds, all birds, so when this happened I was dumbfounded!

  2. The gypsy moth outbreak in New England in the eighties right? That was horrible it sounded like it was raining all the time but it was caterpillars falling out of the trees. The largest event I went to was also at Gillette. It was Shania Twain and Wynona Judd along with several other openers.
