Friends

A walk, a story, a snicker, and a sob. Not hand in hand but hearts connected. Sounds, smells, sights all provoke new memories, recall past, fond reminders.

Walking on the path
Best friends remember the days
Nothing can compare

A memory, an idea, silence, and tears. Hearts have known each other for years. The day was made to spend time with an old friend.

Weekend Writing Prompt

For SammiScribbles: https://sammiscribbles.wordpress.com/2020/07/18/weekend-writing-prompt-166-hinterland/?wref=tp

Sail the unknown

They called it the vast beyond, some called it Hinterland. No one had ever ventured beyond the rock jetty. There were tales that said you would fall right off the edge of the earth if you sailed that far. Other stories were told about monsters, cyclones, and boats disappearing in a fog, none of which could be proven since they all ended in death. I didn’t believe any of it and I was going to prove once and for all that the only thing there was water.  (87 words)

Saturday Mix: metaphors

His words cut deeper than a knife

They had plans to go to dinner. She dressed up nicely, making sure her makeup was just right. The only detail now was to find out what time and where they would meet.

“Hey, what time are we meeting for dinner?”

“I don’t want to meet you for dinner.”

“What do you mean? I thought we were going to go out tonight.”

I don’t ever want to see you again.”

His words cut deeper than a knife.

“But you said you loved me.”

“I just wanted to break your heart, like you broke mine years ago.”

Ambiance: FOWC with Fandango

Written for Fandango: https://fivedotoh.com/2020/07/18/fowc-with-fandango-ambience/

One Day

The ambiance around was clear

There were no vagrants to be found

Soft sweet music filled the air

Flowers and beauty all abound.

Until one day he did arrive

That man from up the street

He smelled like smoke and alcohol

Or is that dirty feet?
