Missing you

I thought this was fitting. Although it may not be about death, it could be about losing someone you love, there are so many types of loss.

Rambles of a Poethead

There are certain days where I Really can’t find my will to live so I stay in bed,

Then there are days like today where I force myself to stay asleep for hours on end

Because You were in my dreams again.

I miss you, or at least the person I used to know,

We were inseparable,

We were thick as thieves,

We once were,

Now we Are nothing.

I still see you in my dreams,

It comes and goes,

Months will fly by before I see your baby blue eyes.

I miss your crooked smile,

I miss your energetic hellos

That followed with a fully embraced hug every time.

I miss your colognes Natural scent,

I miss your hearty laugh,

I miss holding your hand for confidence;

I just miss you so much my friend.

I hope tonight I will get to visit you in…

What pegman saw: Dominican republic

Written for Pegman: https://whatpegmansaw.com/2020/05/02/dominican-republic/

About three years ago my late husband and I took a trip to the Dominican Republic. We stayed at the Bellevue Dominican Bay All-inclusive. https://www.expedia.com/Santo-Domingo-Hotels-BelleVue-Dominican-Bay-All-Inclusive.h1106356.Hotel-Information

We were a little surprised because when we got there the rooms were nothing like the pictures. The pictures they show you are for the time-share guests. Our room was fine but the television didn’t work and the only drinking water was on the first floor, that is if you had bottles to put it in. Otherwise you were stuck with little plastic cups.

We had a wonderful time but it definitely was not a ritzy place, nor was it Americanized at all. I would definitely go back to Boca Chica!

Fact: Fowc with fandango

Where’s my car?

“Sir, have you seen my car? I know I parked it here when I decided to shop at the Shop n’ Save.”

“No ma’am. What color is your car?”

“Well, they want to call it blue but I think that it has a little turquoise tint to it. On a real sunny day, there is a touch of light green. When it is snowing and the world is all white it looks almost like a purple.”

“Ma’am, what kind of car is it?”

“It isn’t a minivan, per say.  It is almost like a wagon but it has seats in the back so it isn’t all for cargo. It is larger than a small, compact car but smaller than a large sedan.”

“Ma’am, with all those facts, it could be any car in this whole parking lot!”

“Oh, what will I do?”

“Do you have one of those keys with the alarm on it? Perhaps we can press the panic button and hear where your car is.”

“Let me see. Where are my keys? Oh, yes, now I remember! I left them on the senior bus that brought us here shopping today! Once I find the bus, I can get my keys and I bet I will find my car.”

“Ma’am, maybe you need to go back to your home and lay down. Rest it out, don’t worry about the car.”

Back at my desk: real quick…

So I completed my first bound book and had some delicious fresh fruit. I then went and read a few blogs and laughing has helped lift my spirits so I will be completing some challenges tonight. Thank you to all my followers and fellow-bloggers!

My new craft!

Thank you, Jenny at Sheepy Hollow Farm https://wordpress.com/read/blogs/2441949/posts/8533
for sharing the book binding videos!

I bought a book-binding kit on Amazon for $20.99 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07H3MHYF2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and some cream colored paper for $11.29 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0114MUO3A/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I definitely need to practice because it all looks good until you open it and see it isn’t tight enough. But, the paper was a ream of 500 and the kit comes with 4 spools of wax thread. I should have enough to make quite a few even after practicing.

Friday Haiku

I know I just posted that I wasn’t going to write much today, due to my lack of zest, but I figured I could crank out at least one Haiku to brighten the gloom of the day!

For Mother’s day

knowing you have been so blessed

From my desk: April 8, 2020

I’m sitting here, in my usual “blogging chair” and I’m reading various posts. Each day I try to read as many posts as I can before falling asleep (no one should take that personal!). Today is different.

Many of my followers know that last July I lost my son. I in no way want to minimize the relationship I have with my daughter, but I dread how I will feel waking up this weekend without my son. Last year, since I had lost my husband the year before, my son had bought me all of my summer flowers and vegetables for planting. Both my son and daughter showered me with love, gifts, and dinner. How does a parent who has lost a child still find happiness on Mother’s Day when you still have another child still here?

This weekend is supposed to get super chilly, they have said we might even get an inch of snow! What? New England isn’t that far north that we should be getting snow in May. This morning was sunny but now the clouds have come back to make it a gloomy, chilly Friday afternoon. I did make brownies, though!

I have been working on a new miniature. It is another flat/apartment. These are the pictures of the kit, right out of the box.

I won’t do many challenges this afternoon as I am not feeling up to thinking hard enough. Lol! I will continue my miniature, eat my brownies, and thank God that I have a beautiful daughter who makes me so proud and happy!

Happy Pre-Mother’s Day!
Stay safe and healthy.
Keep your mask on!
Leave a comment for some conversation…..

Things I am thankful for:
My daughter, David, my dad, Laurette, my friends, my house, my life, and everything that I have that I sometimes take for granted! Peace to you all!

Why You can’t finish what you have started? and why you can’t start what you need to finish?

Thought this was very relevant since I know I am home all day and could be doing so much more!

FIRAS SAAB

It took me eight years to be where I wanted to be. There were constant move, continuous efforts and reluctance to give up that ambition. Are you willing to put the same efforts, time, energy, and sacrifices in order to be where YOU want to be? Do you know how it will look and feel like being there!

First let’s understand why you stop and drop all your dreams, projects, or any activity type that you have committed to: A person in motion stays in motion unless influenced by an external forces that interact and either stop them or change their interest.

Same applies for people at rest, they will never move to be in motion unless they are influenced or pushed.

It is simply the law of Inertia by Isaac Newton, known as the first law. It is based on the physical world and its motion. Everything…
