Three Things Challenge #170

Written for Pensitivity 101: https://pensitivity101.wordpress.com/2020/03/10/three-things-challenge-170/

Your three things today are:

FIGHT
WOUND
BLOOD

True Love

If you were to fight
and there was some blood
I’d look for the wound
I’d bandage it good.
I’d hug you real close
and then let you cry
before telling you
it’s time for goodbye.
You’d want to cry more
to see me leave you
but in the whole end
you know my love’s true.

To David: Tanka Prose

You were here for me every step of the way, no matter how treacherous or uncomfortable you were. You provided me with comfort and safety, a safe place to express my deepest fears and darkest hurts.

You were here
when I needed you most
providing comfort, a warm shoulder,
like an old worn sweater
still smelling like dad’s cologne.

Old Friends Haibun

When the world moves on but your life seems to stand still, comfort comes in the form of rest and meditation. No rehashing or blame can help heal you. The only thing you can do is the right thing, so that you know that what you do is good.

Old friends worn like me
Open to healing the hurt
Find solace in friends.
