My child isn’t behaving in school, what should I do?

Have you received letters home from your child’s school letting you know that their behavior at school is disruptive? Is it escalating?

There is a reason for misbehaving in school and it isn’t because your child is “bad”. Let me help you determine the cause so we can help your child before it escalates and “snowballs”. All kids want to learn. If they aren’t, there is a reason!

three line tales, week 213

an old school desk with lamp, rotary telephone and typewriter photo by Klaas via Unspalsh

When I climb the stairs, to the attic room I use for my writing center, I smell the musty air settling down on my skin as I climb the folding ladder. I left my work abruptly, yesterday, and now hope my ideas will flow freely back into my head. This quiet attic holds more stories than I am even aware of, which I hope to learn by sitting at my desk, with the light of my lamp shining upon my typewriter.

She will be back

Wednesday Poetry Prompts: 517
Every Wednesday, Robert Lee Brewer shares a prompt and an example poem to get things started on the Poetic Asides blog. This week, write a haunted poem.

When I look in the mirror
I see nothing.
I wander the halls of my home
waiting for her to come back.
She left abruptly
without any notice.
She has not come back yet
and does not try to reach me.
I will wait for her
for I know someday she will look for me.
The rooms are quiet
yet her belongings are still here.
Soon, I know, she will come.
Soon, I know, we will be together again.

Creepy Elf Limerick

Today we get playful. Once again we work the Limerick. The nonsensical feel of these ditties remain to touch a heart, a head or funny bone.

Reminder: Five lines.

First, second and fifth lines rhyme(A).

Lines three and four are also linked (B).

The scheme A,A,B,B,A.

Get gaudy, bawdy, raucous, nauseous, cautious, rambunctious or thoughtful. Just give this awful rhyme some of your time. You may be surprised by the results!

Stellar Performance

Your Weekly Word Prompt – Stellar – February 24, 2020.

A stellar performance
a beautiful show
such a fine actor
no one did know.

You took the stage
right in your hand
led the others
Behind you they stand.

And when the show
has come to an end
Let them cheer for you
You are stellar, my friend.

Friday Fictioneers

Before I insert my contribution, I want to put a smile to at least one person’s face when I say I had to look at the calendar because I couldn’t believe it is already Friday! Oops, it’s not! Phew!

I couldn’t believe I missed it! One quick trip to the restroom turned into a nightmare and on top of it all, I didn’t get to see the end of the play! That’s what I get, I guess. Eating Indian Cuisine before an on-stage production may not have been the best idea, but who knew? If only that other woman hadn’t clogged the toilet. I could have run in, done my business and left, but instead I had to sit in my stall, quietly, controlling my bowels, while the custodial crew came in to fix her toilet. My bad timing.

Heeding Haiku With Chèvrefeuille, February 26th 2020, Cherry Tree In Full Bloom

cherry trees in full bloom Japan

Tiny buds open into light pink flowers
Bees buzz for nectar and birds perch for the warmth of the branches
Spring is coming and the world is beginning to awaken.

Light pink flowers bloom
To spread life and joy around
For all to enjoy.

The Sandman’s Q and A

Answer the questions in the comment section or create your own post and link back to this one.

What would you say is a truly great black and white movie? Not really having watched many black and white movies I honestly will admit, in public, that the beginning of the Wizard of Oz is great.

If you could live in any home on a television series, which one would it be? The Jetsons. I love that everything is on hand and moving about the community is only a button away.

How do you feel about touchy-feely people? My first thought: Please don’t touch me, you might have germs. But then: If I know you and you want a hug, no problem. If you are a baby, touch away! If you are elderly, I understand that you may want to touch my hand as you speak, to ensure I am listening to you. If you are sick, yeah, touch me some other time.

Thanks for the fun of the questions!
