Three Line Tales: Week #210

three line tales, week 210: a genie in a bottle enchants a passer-by

The next time you are walking in the city and you see a genie in a bottle, run the other way.
This genie is nothing but a fake, looking for money, so he doesn’t have to go to work everyday.
If you fall for it, make sure you give him a big bill, just in case it is the one time it’s a real genie!

DVerse: What day is it anyway?

Friday’s Call

I woke up this fine morning
thinking it was spring
I thought I heard you calling
the phone, I heard it ring.

You only call on Sunday
or maybe not at all
I hate to think I missed you
it’s only that one call.

So now I sit here thinking
of what to say to you
the next time that you call me
I think I’ll have the flu.

Don’t call me on a Monday
I’ve got my chores to keep
Don’t call me on a Tuesday
my answer machine will beep.

Don’t call me on a Wednesday
I’d hate to miss you then
Don’t call me on a Thursday
I’ll not remember when.

So if you call on Friday
I’ll wait right by the phone
To answer all your questions
now that I am alone.

Wednesday Poetry Prompts: 514 – write a confession

Cow Patty

Its not that I meant to take it
Its not that I thought you’d care
But when you left the house today
I saw it sitting there.

I thought it tasted funny
I thought it was a fake
It looked just like a muffin
or someone’s birthday cake.

I guess that’s what I’ve got
coming to me now.
I should have left the pie alone
and left it with that cow.
